What is a brigadeiro? Brazil's favorite chocolate treat — a soft, fudgy, hand-rolled truffle made with condensed milk, butter and cocoa. Not quite a truffle, not quite fudge. Something better. Handmade in California, inspired by Brazil.

Why is it called brigadeiro? The brigadeiro was created in Brazil in the 1940s and named after Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, a Brazilian Air Force officer who ran for president. His supporters sold chocolate sweets to raise funds for his campaign — and the treat became so beloved it outlasted the election. Today it's at every Brazilian birthday, wedding, and celebration.

How long do brigadeiros stay fresh? Up to 2 weeks at room temperature. Can be refrigerated for longer freshness. And here's a secret — brigadeiros can be frozen for up to 6 months!

What is brigadeiro spread? Our brigadeiro spread is our classic "brigadeiro de colher" — the same creamy brigadeiro in spreadable form. Eat it off the spoon, spread it on toast, or use it as a fruit dip. It can also be frozen for up to 6 months.

Are your products gluten free? Yes — all our brigadeiros and spreads are always gluten free. Our cookies are also gluten free, made with almond flour. Our cookies are also egg free.

What kind of cookies do you make? Our brigadeiro-filled cookies are unlike anything you've ever tried. On the outside they look like a classic cookie — on the inside there's a gooey brigadeiro center that oozes with every bite. Always gluten free, made with almond flour, and egg free.

Where can I find your cookies? You can order online, visit our shop at 411 South B St in San Mateo, or find us at Bay Area airports — Oakland (OAK), San Jose (SJC), and San Francisco (SFO)!

ORDERING & SHIPPING

Do you ship across the US? Yes! We ship with 2-day shipping only to ensure your brigadeiros arrive fresh. We do not ship on Saturdays. Bay Area orders typically arrive in 1 day via UPS Ground, though occasionally it may take 2 days depending on UPS.

Do you ship internationally? We offer international shipping for corporate orders on our DIY Kits. Contact us for more information.

How far in advance should I order? We recommend ordering at least 3-5 days in advance, especially for holidays and peak seasons.
